First of all, Betsy what an awful photo to post of Gloria and myself!! It is obvious that they are really those candy stick things from when we were kids, but still!
I haven't posted on here in a long time and thought that I should. If anyone reading this is expecting interesting and earth shattering information, I would highly recommend surfing away from this post. :)
I am back from my trip east, which was a total blast. It feels good to be back in my own bed, but I sure miss the east coast. Sometimes it is nice to see familiar stomping ground. I just wish I could get over this jet lag. Someone at work said that you can eat a certain food to get over jet lag, but they couldn't remember what that food was. Anyone ever hear of something like that?
On Saturday Dan and I put together Mabry's nursery. It is really coming together. I just need to find things to put on the walls now. I was thinking last night about making some shadow boxes and painting them. If I can make them deep enough I can maybe set baskets in them to hold some diapers, or toys or something. Who knows. I am just going to have to keep my eye out. I took some photos of the nursery, which you can see if you look at my other blog. The joke Dan and I have now is that next week when we go in for the second scan they are going to tell us we have a "healthy baby boy." I can't even begin to imagine all of the returning we would have to do.
Mabry has become very active in the last week. She is constantly moving and kicking. It is a strange sensation that is for sure. Dan gets so excited when he can feel her kick. Before he used to lay his hand on my stomach and she would kick and he would wait for me to confirm if she really had moved. Now when he lays his hand on my belly he knows. She is a tough little thing. I can't wait for September.
Gloria and Ryan should be here at the beginning of August sometime. I think it is going to be a lot of fun having people around that we know. We are already planning a trip to the Roloff farm near Portland in October. (Anyone who has ever seen the show Little People Big World knows what I am talking about.) We are going to pick out pumpkins and tour the old west town and three story tree house and take lots of photos. Too bad when she gets older Mabry won't remember any of it, at least she will have photos.
Well I better get going, I am just rambling on and on about nothing anyhow. Hopefully I will find more time to post on here. Working 130+ hours every two weeks while 5 months pregnant tends to kick my butt. I am lucky if I have enough time to hold a conversation with Dan let alone do anything else. I think that my boss is beginning to see the toll that it is taking and is now trying to keep me back at a usual 80 hours or so...which is fine by me. :)
