This would make a wonderful hostess, teacher, friend... gift and is so easy to make.
Recipe: Peppermint Bark
1 bag milk chocolate chips
1 bag of white chips
crisco
some candy canes crushed up
Get a cookie sheet out and line with foil. Melt the milk chocolate chips in microwave with about 1 T. shortening (solid Crisco) for app. 30 seconds, stir, then another 30 seconds (mine finished melting as I stirred). Spread the melted chocolate onto the foil but not too thin. Do the same with the white chips (don't forget the Crisco) and then put this on top of the chocolate, take a butter knife cutting through it to swirl it. Then put the crushed peppermint on top pressing into the white chocolate a little. Put in freezer about 15 minutes. Take out, break apart and you have a wonderful treat.
Side note: We did not go all the way to the edge of the cookie sheet.
