Alabama charmer and the house with 4 acres

This lovely home was featured on the blog, The Lettered Cottage, and if you click on you will see other pictures of this house. It drooled of southern charm, lots of possibilities, in our price range, BUT not in the area of Alabama we are moving too. Can I cry now?

Instead... this was the first house we went to check out... (these pictures do not do it justice...remember I never claimed to be a photographer). We were in awe other than the fact that we were waaaaaay out there in the country. Can ya say, hubby was a happy camper and momma needed some stores. It wasn't too bad the distance as long as gas doesn't go up to $4.00 a gallon.
This great out building could house the RV to the left and work benches inside. A little creativity and the right side could be some cool seating and potting post.
Now who wouldn't love this screened in patio with an additional covered patio? Hmm, tell me who? I have been wanting one of these screened patios instead of a deck for awhile now and with the added bonus of another covered patio.... well let me say, I'm loving it.
Some of the enormous fenced back yard, what a view. My pups would get lost.
Here lies the problem....this weeney kitchen and eating area. My girls have said we need to scale down, but even for someone like me this is a bit too much. I don't claim to be Paula Deen, but I do cook most every night and the kitchen is the gathering place and don't tell me that where ever people are hanging out they don't eventually work there way to the kitchen. The eating area alone would not hold our dining table but would house the lovely little set my MIL brought back from Germany and gave to us.
We did talk about how we could enlarge the kitchen and eating area (surprise surprise).
Anyone who knows us knows that we have never moved into a house, brand spanking new or old that we haven't done some tweeking here and there and then as our girls say, "Dad put the last nail in so the house will be up for sale, when are ya moving?"

Oh, back to what I was saying, the house is already at our top dollar and even if we could finagle something, would we then be pricing ourselves out of the area??? The house is great other wise.

Or maybe someone out there knows of a house drooling southern charm outside Birmingham that you could mention to me in my comments.

It looks like such a perfect southern place - until the kitchen. Don't worry, our prayers and thought are with you - the right place will present itself.
