Reading Ladies Home Journal magazine I came across an article on how one mom began buying pieces of metal from old airplanes that were being cut up; what a waste. Then an idea sprang to mind and she started crafting dog tags for necklaces. Now these aren't your ordinary dog tags...no siree...
Each tag has a quote about peace engraved on the back, such as Jimi Hendrix's line, "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace."
Karen Gulino, the woman behind this idea, and her business partner, Barbara Donaldson, donate a portion of the proceeds to Fisher House Foundation which provides lodging for families when a wounded soldier is receiving treatment at a military medical center.
