One Man's Dream

Last weekend we made our usual trip to our Lowes and we ALWAYS have to check out the $5.00 "oops" paint....BINGO....SCORE

Hubby wanted dark and I mean to tell you...really dark on his walls of his office. We even had the nice Lowes paint guy add a little bit more black to the paint.

Here is the results. The original light (or as hubby says, "pastel" green) and the new and improved really dark gray with green undertones new paint. (This looks more green then it truly is...just an FYI).

Yeah, this is more the color and you can see the light complimentary color of the carpet. We thought at some point we would have to replace the carpet but it actually goes so well with the new paint that we have saved ourselves some money there. The white trim (it was already white) just makes the wall color pop all that much more. LOVE IT!

That door outside his office is another full bathroom and after painting his office I am now thinking I just might have to paint that bathroom too. I didn't realize just how peach looking the walls in the bathroom really are and "peach" just isn't his color. The long board you see leaning up against the wall holds horse tack from his grandpa's barn and we haven't decide if that will go in the office or on the other side of the wall where you can see a little bit of the light switch. (FYI...it goes horizontal).

Scored at one of Penneys wonderful buy one get one for $.88 sales and got these pecan blinds for the man's office.

Yes...yes...we had to get camo material and I am going to make him some curtains for "his" office. This is "his" room and this is what "he" wanted. I just wanted to make it like an English man's hunting/office type room. It is (hopefully) going to be a low key version of one. I don't think we will be getting into paneling or over stuffed leather chairs but hey...if I can score one at a garage sale, we'll have one.

We are not going to section the basement off into a family room, exercise room etc: etc: but we have put in a 24 foot work bench for hubby. He is still working on organization but the previous owner had peg board here and there that wasn't conducive to us where it was located so hubby is reusing for over his workbench as much as possible.

It is slowly coming along and it make take awhile (I am not as fast as most of you decorating gals) but I will post pictures when it is completed or as much of a completion as we can afford to do. (Plus I need to get it organized).

Well I think you're faster than I would be and with a lot more vision. I think his room turned out great. I like the white trim and door with the dark green.

Great job.

I LOVE that green. And Ryan would LOVE all those heads hanging on the wall. I told him the same thing. He can have his own room and do whatever he wants to it. All the carcasses it'll hold.

I like the color too and I am sure Dad is happy not being in that ugly light blue green all the time now. I bet it looks really good against the white of the built ins too. Can't wait to come and see it in person.

Now that is going to be one nice man cave and an overstuffed garage sale chair would really set it off nicely!

I really like the color of the walls!
