A little bit of randomness

When we moved to our neighborhood in Nov., and even though it is in the south, it was cool out and so we didn't see any of our neighbors to know if they were young, old or in between. I have since found out that in my little cul-de-sac all of my neighbors are retired and have health problems. Here is our one friendly neighbor, Lou. The back of Lou's house faces the side of mine, she lives on our corner. A very quiet and sweet lady.

This is Lou picking blueberries on the two bushes that she has. It is an ordeal for her to get down there because she has some problems with her knees. I gave you this background because this sweet lady was kind enough to give me a call and ask me if I would come over to get some blueberries that she picked, for us, to welcome us to the area.

They are a little tart but good all the same and will not go to waste.

I laugh when I think of these neighbors we have here in the cul-de-sac because Lou's husband is a semi-invalid and he spies on the neighbors with his binoculars, another sweet couple, Nadeen and Harry, well Harry had brain surgery a couple months ago, seems to be doing better but their big concern is of him falling and his brain start bleeding, he is the residence guy you see on his electric scooter that goes around taking all our garbage cans back to their spots after it has been collected. Please keep them in your prayers. And then there is Bobbi, I met her once and she wants me to ride with her to the cemetery.

All in all they are very kind sweet elderly folks that probably could tell us some stories.

AND...

I have this sweet blogging friend, Linda, who lives in California and she sends me presents. When she went to Hawaii she knew I loved coffee as much as she did and she sent me the most wonderful Hawaiian coffee that I used sparingly as a "treat" to myself. Today in the mail she sent me what she calls her "Good Mail" and I got these two cute watermelons that are salt and pepper shakers...too cute, Linda and this adorable ceramic leaf. Thanks Linda :)
