The aftermath of Katrina was still visible when driving on the streets of New Orleans but the folks here have done some amazing rebuilding of the city they love. You see it on TV, you hear it in the news but you really have no idea what these folks have went through. Even seeing the devastation we saw, still did not prepare us. It only made me humble and thanking God for how lucky I am.

Then you come to other areas (these were in the Garden District) and these homes seem virtually untouched. My mouth watered wanting to go in and peek around, look at all the detail and let my imagination run wild wondering about all the residence that lived there.

Can ya guess what this is? No... It isn't alien space ships. These are mausoleums and this one was right by the road. New Orleans is below sea level and so there are no basements or in ground burials.

This was taken in the Garden District just to show how small the driveways really are.

Tomorrow will be my last post on New Orleans and a guessing game.
