Jess is the one who is clever enough to write riddles for the person who has to find their gift, which unfortunately for her, she doesn't get to be a recipient of the scavenger hunt, but one Christmas we will all put our heads together and have her do one. Anyhow...
Here was one of my clues
Jess actually made this pop up card of the skyline...the NYC skyline
Jay was taking me (Betsy came too) on a day trip to NYC that included an evening carriage ride through Central Park. The day started out cloudy and the first 3 hours were fine and spent checking out the new 911 Memorial Bldgs. but then it rained. It rained enough that our feet were soaked, our pants (on the bottom) were soaked and the carriage ride was canceled. That just gives us another excuse to go back...right?
We still had fun shopping and going to an Irish Pub for dinner.
Miss Liberty as we were coming in from the Holland Tunnel
Empire State Bldg.

Here are a couple of gifts that were so cute I had to share.
This was in my stocking. Mabry watched The Grinch and everyone got these (tic tacs).
This is Mabry's hand, her mama did the stitching except for the read outline which Mabry did. A new ornament for next year. The bag says, "Made with love by an Elf named Mabry"

It may have rained on your NYC day but the photo in the rain is BEAUTIFUL!! Loved the pop-up card, scavenger clues and new ornaments. Lots of talent in your family!!
I agree with sweet tea - the pictures of the lights and the rain were just beautiful. There is nothing like New York. sandie
Hi Chez Cheri,
I was guided to your blog by my dear friend Chatty Crone. What a lovely family you have and I enjoyed your photos very much. I especially liked the tree at Rockefeller center. Have a lovely day and a happy new year! Greetings from Ireland.

What a neat trip and awesome gift ideas. I love the little riddles and it's always fun to guess for presents! Too cool~
Lucky you to get to take a holiday trip to NYC! I've never been, so I'm enjoying looking at your pics. Too bad that it rained though.
I LOVE Scavenger Hunts for gifts!! Chris did one for me a couple of years ago.
