Loyalty and Habits

Labor day weekend we were in PA and our little ( I say this because a friend sent me a picture of a 70# Doxie) tootsie roll, our black doxie, was in the Vet ER with severe dehydration and pancreatitis. She had been eating and drinking until the day before we took her. Our pups travel everywhere with us but the Vet said that sometimes it can be stressful for them and this can compound things. There were other pups in there for the same thing so we were not sure what was going on. If we had not taken her we were told that she could have ended up with kidney failure and we would have lost her, if we had done nothing we could have lost her; so for a day and half she was in the pet hospital. It was either that or put her down and that my friend was not an option. She looked at us with pleading eyes to just take care of her. She is loyal and she is part of our family. She makes us laugh because no matter what door she uses to go out, she will be waiting at "that" door to get back in, even if I am at another door calling her. She is a creature of habit.
