I don't know why it took us so long. I think the fear of facing the idea of steaming off wallpaper crept in and kept me from doing the job. You would think that after all the steaming of wallpaper we had already done we would be able to face this monster with speed and precision. No...my mind with that little red devil in there, said, "this is overwhelming" "you can't do it" "you'll be sorry you tackled this now, it is taking too long." So I kept putting it off (something I have found I am now good at as I get older). Anyhow, I digress...
IT WASN'T BAD PEOPLE
WHY
WHY
WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG???
The wallpaper was painted over in bright yellow. Here is the only picture I can find.
Then one Saturday a few weeks ago I was in the room for something and thought I would just go over where a seam was and see...you know...an itty bitty peek.
I lost control when I saw that it was just peeling off in sheets...Woo Hoo!
Husband came in...saw what I was doing and from there the furniture left the room and one thing led to another and here is the finished room now. (sorry for the blurry pics)
the planking was not originally on the wall, we added that. The curtains are navy and white ticking stripes.
Walls are white, really they are.
Yes, I have a nautical thing going on. I got the quilt at Kohl's just before we moved in and thought I was going Americana but the the lighthouse on the dresser, the oar on the wall and the navy "Sail" pillow on the bed turned all that around. They are little things that can be easily changed (if I wanted too).
Next up
The Master Bathroom
and
this is a whole gut job.
