It was November 2005 that our children and family gave us a huge $$$ Visa card to use for a trip. Not to use for anything else. It was to celebrate our 50th B-days and November just happen to be half way between his and mine and since we decided to do a 4 day Caribbean cruise (testing the waters) (pun intended) and hurricane season was winding down (another pun), we went on Royal Caribbean to the Bahamas, Royal Caribbean's private island and Key West. It was fabulous.
AND now courtesy of our Betsy and her hubby Sven, we got to enjoy The Outer Banks in Corolla, NC for a week. They rented a house large enough for her family and his with a spectacular outside space. Everyone had their own suites which not only included bathrooms but also balconies.
The house was right on the water and to the left is the public access to the beach. We had a gate from our outdoor area that led right to the boardwalk. Most of the bedrooms were on the middle floor and the ground floor. The top floor had one MB suite, living room, dining, kitchen and up a small flight of stairs was a sitting area.
Middle floor all the way to the right was our room. It was nice to have that very shallow area for our "Littles" and it even has a hole for an umbrella to keep them from getting burnt. You can't see it but over to the right (that corner of the pool that is cut off) is the built in hot tub with a water fall.
Here is the aerial view. We had a couple of days where it was pretty windy to be on the beach and so we used that narrow grassy area to play Bocce and Ladder Ball.
The week turned out great with every family having one night where they bought and cooked dinner for the crowd and each family brought beverages to share. One daughter bought all the necessities, breakfast food, lunch food and snacks and each family then paid their part. Last day anything that was left people were able to take home.
So all this was to say that our last two vacations were because of the generosity of our children and family. THANK YOU...THANK YOU. We are very blessed, lucky and loved.

Wow! What fabulous vacations!
Loved the photos and the commentary.
Welcome back to reality now. :-)
Wow that was gorgeous and wonderful. I haven't seen a prettier home on the beach with a pool. They picked it well. So glad that you and Jay got the opportunity to go - you are blessed and lucky.
Glad you had a great week ♥
