House Bound

We have been battling our builder for 2 years now on repairs that should have been done the week of our closing. Goodness knows we could make a new career out of fighting for those that have gotten railroaded by their builder. To bad you can't do a "return" as easily as you can do at a store. I guess coming from a family of builders, I know that there is no way they would have wanted to put their name on this kind of work.

I know...I know...why did we buy this house, long story short...time was running out on picking out a house (we did have a contract on one prior to this one that fell through) and looks can be deceiving. It isn't until you get in and can really have the time to look, clean and run in bare feet that you start noticing what you missed at the initial visit.

Anyhow...Betsy and I prepared the house for new drywall figuring that there would be a "dust mess," because the builder never called or corresponded with us in any form to let me know if I needed to cover things, take things down etc: and this proved to have been a waste of time as his foreman came to do the drywall work and only added more mud over the cracks etc: So I asked him about the dust when sanding and his response was that he was going to wet sand, how can that make for a smooth surface???

At this point I hope he is done before Jessica and Mabry come next week and then we will prepare for Round 2 with what is already shabby (at best) repairs.

Have a great week.
Love to all,
Cheri/Aunt Cheri/Mom
