Trying my hand at being thrifty and crafty

I couldn't get this shelf sold at our garage sale and so it sat in the garage (where else, right?),when a light bulb went off in my head (you know those moments) and decided since I could not find the iron shelf I wanted for the price I was willing to pay, why not some how utilize what I already had. So..."Off with her head" (that would be the part with the red heart), paint it black, add brackets to hang it and turn it on its side to hang up behind the toilet in the half bath. Wal la
Here is the final result but I think it needs something on top, any ideas???

Here it is in all its glory with these other Americana pieces and now you get the full effect.

What if you a get a little iron piece from Real Deal to hang/or lean on the wall above the shelf. Good job on being thrifty!!! I like the shelf.

Love you,

Betsy

Don't you just love it when you get ideas like that :) It looks great! Are you sure they aren't two different pieces?!? :)

I really like the way that it turned out. Plus I am all for turning one thing into something different. Good job!

Looks great. What about tealights? Remember the candle holder Jess used to have on top of her dining table?
