Is there any better way to start out 2009?

The life we lead...

We were just getting ourselves rested for the Rose Bowl game with our beloved Penn State playing USC and this is the same way we were during the game and when PSU lost. Nuff said.

I just wanted to add that some of the posts I have read this morning talk of "traditions" for New Year's Eve, like this one from Darlene and from Linda and we have one in our family for as long as I can remember; putting money (the year that it is going to be, such as 2009) under the mat outside the door that you come in and out of the most. It is to bring wealth into your home. So you need to put $20.09 or $2,009.00 (if your that rich) under the mat. It has to contain all the numbers of the coming year. We scrambled together the $20.09 and so did our daughter but our daughter wanted to give us an "extra" boost and wrote a check (not sure if a check counts, we always did "real" cash, but hey, it is money) to us in the amount of $2,009.00 but told us NOT to cash it...darn! We were given strict orders to shred it.

If you have other traditions that you do on New Year's Eve, won't you share.

Here is hoping that 2009 will be all that we all hope for.

Hi Cheri,

I haven't heard of putting money under the mat. I'll have to remember that one for next year. I'll take all the luck I can get...lol

Great idea - I'm game to try anything. I'll have to start saving for 2010!

Hi Cheri :)

I'm sorry we beat you in the game (kinda) LOL

I've never heard of that tradition, but it sounds good to me :)

The project I did with the painted houses was a little tin with a lid that Annie bought me at a garage sale. I use it for extra craft items right now, but I'm sure I'll come up with something else soon.

Happy New Year!
