A house hunting we will go

We were back to house hunting this past week and I am pretty sure that our realtor would like us to "JUST PICK SOMETHING."

We came across this house (it is in foreclosure status) and it has pretty much everything we were looking for but as in every house, you don't get EVERYTHING and being in the state that it is in, there are some repairs. One big repair is replacing ALL the carpeting but I don't find this to be a bad thing because that means I can put in whatever I want. Sometimes you look at a house and the flooring may not be your choice but because it isn't in bad condition you live with it, well this won't be the case. Then there is some trim to replace (not much) because their dog or whatever large animal they had apparently thought a window sill and some door trim was a dog treat.

The biggest obstacle is the distance, it would take hubby about 40 minutes or so (depending on traffic) to get to work and almost as much time for me to finding a mall. Hmmm And there is replacing the septic system possibly.

Now this house is closer to his work and shopping for me, it is in a LARGE development with a nature preserve/walking trails, but the price is a bit higher with our house not being sold it might be stretching things for us a bit financially. Oh if only my crystal ball were working and I knew when our house would sell. There is no room for hubby to have an out building for a workshop (unless he takes over the garage and we just park in the driveway... we are in the south). It has everything we were really looking for in a house and then some... so.... hmmm
We don't know whether we should make an offer on one of these homes or keep looking.

Now here are pictures of the house we are selling. It was shown over Labor Day weekend. The feedback was: they liked the house, it was priced to sell, but they thought the condition of the exterior and interior were poor, what does that mean? Even our realtor here didn't know what that meant.

My feelings were a little hurt and I know you can't take this personally (everyone has their own taste) but now I am more bewildered at those comments. Oh, well, it just wasn't meant to be.

Everyone has their own needs for asking for prayer, and I am asking that you all just add us in your prayers that our house sells quickly and we find the "right" home for us in our new state. With so many in desperate need for prayer, being a sick child/family member, losing a job or home, our problem seems so insignificant but we would still appreciate any help.

Why would someone say the condition was poor? I have always loved your house...especially the outside.

We went through the whole buy/sell thing last year and it was way more stressful than I had imagined. I hope you get a great offer on your house soon!

Cheri: I love the home you are selling....from the comment of the "potential" buyer, I'd say they lack class and style! Here's hoping you find "the house" and get settled in soon so we can meet and shop!

Love ya,
Judy

Hi Cheri......your house looks pretty darn good to me...the people that made those comments must be practicing to be on "House Hunters"....you know how nobody on that show ever sounds happy....I liked the 2nd. house in Bama...I will pray that yours sells soon but regret that although we will see each other soon you may soon be gone and our friendship will have to continue long distance....And by the way...i had the exact same leather sofa...until Boo destroyed it....it was a lovely sofa....
