This isn't new for most of you but thought I would share a small project I worked on.
First I found what "saying" I wanted to print, picked out the font and size (if you need a rather large size you might want to take what you printed to a Kinkos where they can copy it on to larger paper for you.)

Some of you use transfer paper but I didn't have any. Next best thing.... a #2 pencil. I took the pencil over the back side of the words. Lined up my paper onto the canvas and taped it.
Here I took a pen and began tracing over each letter with breaks in between because my hand was cramping.
It looks pretty light but dark enough for me to be able to paint.

Here is my paint job and as you can see some of my letters were a bit darker and I was a little heavy handed with the paint. Since it was my first time doing something like this, I have learned a few things. Daughter #2 suggested that the next time I outline each letter with a very fine sharpie marker before painting...good idea. I also think that I would have liked to have painted the canvas first with some color before doing the transfer...live and learn.

This one maybe my "experiment" piece...I have (3) more to play around with to try to get it right.

Hi Cheri :)
First, thank you so much for your sweet compliment! I love that my blog brings you joy.
Second, I think you did a very good job on that transfer! You could still outline it, if you think it needs it. I've had to do that myself.
Thank you again!
