Window Dressing

Remember just last week hubby frosted this window over our jetted tub for me, but couldn't decide what else to do with this. It looked plain but I also didn't want to give up the view or the light.

Well for one thing, I added this vinyl that I won from Leen's graphics last year. Why would I want to put it up at a house we were selling so I waited until I found the spot that I would enjoy seeing it. Originally I was going to put the cherry blossom tree in our sitting area of our room but....it just didn't work for me. So I had one of those light bulb...ahh...ha moments and thought of this tall plain wall in our bathroom. I am glad I made the choice to put it here.

One daughter suggested that I put in a valance but a shallow one. So I went in search of this striped fabric I covered one pillow with in our bedroom but alas...it was not to be found EVER again. So on to plan "B"... paisley.

Here Jay is doing his part of hanging up the curtain rod for me.

Here is the valance (night time shot obviously).

Close up of the paisley. I love it.

Now a daytime view.

I am going back and forth as to whether I think it looks too country???

Wow, what a transformation! I love the vinyl and you've put it in the perfect place!

Paisley is my favorite too, love it! Since the window is so big, the valance is looking a little lost. Maybe that area needs something with a little poof, like balloon shades. Either way, it looks beautiful as is!

If you wanted to "formal" the valance up just a little, you could use a traditional rod - you know the flat white rods. Anyhoo hang the same valance but shorten the width of it so it stretches out and has no gathers and kind of resembles a cornice board.

I like the valance and love the tree. I thought it was in a pot at first and kept looking for the vinyl. Looks great!!
