The tale of Over Spray

No pictures with this one...just a story that you might get a laugh at.

I am too impatient to put on disposable gloves and old sox/shoes and mask...yep....not me. Just let's get to the task at hand.

Never again...

When painting the doors for the refrigerator I was in bare feet...

at one point I looked down and saw I was leaving black foot prints on the garage floor...what...how did that happen???

Looked at the bottom of my feet and they were solid black! so I got on my knees and crawled on the garage floor and into the house, hubby heard me and came to see what was going on. I was trying to get in and possibly cleaned up before he noticed the errors of my ways...no such luck.

He cleaned my feet with Acetone and they looked at least presentable to go to the grocery store to get something for dinner (it was after 8:00 PM by then). While at Publix's I also got a pumice stone, nail polish remover and new nail polish, after all a gal's gotta have nice looking toes.

Came home and showered using that pumice stone on my feet and I mean everywhere...toes, bottoms, ankles...everywhere. Finally they looked normal and the new nail polish didn't hurt either.

Not to be gross...but sorry it is...I blew my nose and all that came out was black! Gee wonder what my lungs looks like.

Next day when I repainted I was sweating like a pig in the warmth of Georgia weather, a mask, soxs, shoes and disposable gloves. So much so that the sweat was pouring off my eyelashes onto my glasses. Came inside to wipe off the sweat and noticed that I looked some what like a Smurf. Remember them?

I thought it was just coming in from the sunshine but not the case...as much as I thought I was prepared for this go around with the paint....I had over spray on my face, neck and ears. I am just having one hell of a good time with this paint!

Did I learn my lesson...in a word...yes. No Appliance paint...dress appropriately when doing DIY projects and don't be discouraged by one DIY project.

Take heed and follow my advice or this could be "YOU."
