We have been working on the biggest share of this project for the past 6 months (some things were done in the past 2 years) and I am so glad to say that it is DONE.
Without my handy dandy Mr. we wouldn't have been able to afford all these updates.
So let's jump back and revisit the BEFORE:
FYI-Those walls were 2 layers of wall paper with the last layer painted the yellow.
And now the AFTER:
Coming in from the dining room
Sorry for some dark pics
This is much better. I have not painted the cabinets, that is still up for debate. So...maybe the kitchen isn't finished yet. For now...I just want to live with it.
The red island was Mr. Handy Dandy's choice and so from there the accent color was chosen.
The 2 pictures you see are ones I have had in a closet begging to get hung but never seem to have found the perfect spot until now.
The panels in the bay window are brown/white checked that I made.
This picture is actually a much much better picture of what color the island really is. See that picture hung up...it was another one that was sitting in a closet and there use to be an old intercom system there that didn't work. No...we didn't cover over it...that would be a no no in the Mr.'s eyes. It was properly drywalled.
To add some more of the red I found this Dash and Albert rug on line and fell in love with it.
I fell in love with it so much that I kept waiting until they had the size runner I needed for here and it came TODAY!
We are very happy with the way it has all turned out.
