Easy Peasy Peppermint Bark and a tip

This is so easy that it is ridiculous. All you need are these three ingredients and a bit of butter/margarine. BUT... here is the tip... use the white candy melts that you can buy at Michaels instead of the baking chips. When you melt the white candy melts they will come out smooth and not dough like as the white baking chips did for me. Now I had no problem with the chocolate baking chips... so go figure.

I found that snipping the end of the candy paper at the long end and then peel the paper down around to the hook part comes off easier than trying to just peel. The worst problem you will encounter is the static the cellophane has and sticking to your fingers but I just stuffed it in a hole that candy cane was in in the box... no problem.

Put all the canes in a gallon size ziploc

Take that rolling pin and crush to your hearts desire. You might get out a lot of aggression and relieve some stress with this procedure.

All crushed up and you can make the pieces any size you want.

In a saucepan on medium to low heat melt the bag of chocolate chips with about 1 T. margarine for each bag (for a large cookie sheet I used 2 bags of chocolate and 2 T. margarine). See how smooth it looks... I just want to stick my face in there an lick that pan clean... too bad the white chocolate chips didn't turn as smooth... oh well... I still used it.

Pour melted chocolate on a foil covered cookie sheet and proceed to do the same thing with the white chocolate that you did with the milk chocolate chips. Drizzle the white chocolate on top of the milk chocolate and drag a knife through it for swirls. Then take the crushed peppermints and sprinkle on top patting them slightly into the white/milk chocolate. Stick in the freezer for about 30 min. Then break apart and store.

This made so much that hubby took a large container to work, those girls LOVE their chocolate. I'll tell you how much they LOVE their chocolate, each boss is suppose to buy candy (preferably chocolate) every month and when it came hubby's turn he spent $40.00. That's a lot of chocolate! I have a smaller container to take to NC when we go there.

I am getting ready for Christmas - it's been really busy here - how about you - guess you're going to go see the girls. :)

I loved that recipe. I am trying to make something else with those darn candy canes - that's the hardest part of my job! They didn't crush easily either, but I'm ready to make my treats tomorrow.

Thanks for this recipe - I am going to make a hard copy.
